My primary focus was on the relationship between different cultures and body modifications.
I wanted to display a wide variety of mediums, as well as the different cultural ideas and styles.
The concept of such dramatic physical manipulations inspired me to illustrate how different societies accept and encourage these behaviors. My series ended up evolving from more “tribal” modifications, to alterations more commonly seen in the United States and today’s society.
